The Chaos Megadungeon Collab 2025 is Complete!
We had a whopping 30 participants (including myself) create a room for the Chaos Megadungeon and you can download it over on itch.io for free RIGHT NOW.
A huge thanks to all of those who participated in this fun game jam. I had a blast putting it together and creating this big glorious mcmansion of a dungeon. I think you all did a excellent job coming up with crazy a weird things to throw in there, and I hope that you all had an awesome time creating these rooms.
The Khaos Kube from Outer Space!
The sky screeches and the air blisters as a massive structure forces it’s way into existence. The sheer volume of it’s size displaces all the vapor in the sky so violently it begins to boil and steam at the edges of the structure. The sky eclipses, birds scatter, people scream, and nocturnal animals howl as if the night has fallen.
Where once was open air, now sits a colossal Kube made of patchwork cathedrals, villas, skyscrapers, dungeons, and other strange structures all compacted together as if crushed by some cosmic trash compacter.
It descends upon the world, ready to swallow the land and add you to it’s every growing menagerie of rooms. Like a titanic katamari ball, it tears through reality, ripping and stealing pieces of the world away each time one of its Kubic faces collides with the ground.
Then just as suddenly as it appeared it vanishes, leaving behind a gaping vacuum in the sky. The weight of the atmosphere rushes to fill the void, spawning hurricane-force winds. Trees are uprooted, roofs torn away, and somewhere a bewildered billy goat bleats as it’s swept into the air. The landscape is left shattered and irreparable.
The Corrosive Collector and their Khaos Kube have stolen what they desired and departed, leaving ruin in their wake. But perhaps a tenacious group of adventurers sucked into it’s bowels will finally put an end to this cosmic tyrant.
Let’s check out the final map!

Holy moly that is a lot of rooms!
And let me tell you, lining them all up like that was no small feat. In my mind I had imagined piecing it together would go much more smoothly, but in reality, I spent way too long on this…
But man was it worth it. Honestly, it’s just so cool to see so many unique art styles and ideas collaged together like this. Has anyone else seen or participated in a similar project? If so, please share because this is a first for me.
Mini-Award Show
I wanted to quickly mention a couple of rooms that really stood out to me in this project. These awards are completely subjective to my interpretation, and the participants didn’t know I was grading them, so if you don’t like my judgement, please let me know what rooms you loved in the comments.
Lets take a look:
Best Art - Septic Shaft by Tahlia Espenscheid
I am a sucker for black and white artwork with good inking, linework, and clarity. And this one just hit all the notes. I was so surprised to see something so detailed and well-drawn in my inbox when looking through the rooms. Excellent job Tahlia.
Best Art Honorable Mentions

Left to right, top to bottom: Orc Printer by Gabriel Watcher, Shop of Suspiciously Familiar Items by Helcey & Gentsma, Figglebottom’s Diner by Fedmar, The One-Room Schoolhouse (o’ Doom) by Roger C. Jones, The Tentacled Oracle by DRMHigginson, and Thou Kasinoe! (Kah-sigh-no) by Lorenzi
Best Item - Figglebottom’s Diner by Fedmar
This one has to go to the infinitely long mayo hydrant of Figglebottom’s Diner. I strategically placed this one at the beggining of the dungeon in the hopes that someone will drag it all the way to the Boss room at the bottom. So funny, so inventive, and definitely something the players will mess with. Did I mention it can spawn Mayo-Badgers?
Best Item Honorable Mentions
Cheese Wizard Hat in The Rat-brary by GerblinTeefs
Cursed Golden Keys from the Blackheld Pipes on the Back of The Hand by Calicovisions
Sacred Bags and Ear-Warmers in The Goblin Gremlin War by Gami Games/ZackFMF
Invisibility Glasses in the Pit of Pits by Henry Smith
Best Adversary - Haunted Trap Room by Laura and Salty Nick
So, this room is absolutely chock full of traps that are clearly visible and can be slowly and carefully circumnavigated. Sounds easy right? Well, there is also an Angry Poltergeist ready to reset and trigger traps partway through the room! How funny is that! I can only imagine the horror on the rogues face as they are about to disarm the swinging axe, only for the poltergeist to trigger it anyways.
Best Adversary Honorable Mentions
Divorced Men in Thou Kasinoe! (Kah-sigh-no) by Lorenzi
The Tentacled Oracle by DRMHigginson
The Conspirators in “The Honeypot” Bar & Speakeasy by The magnanimous magus Madsalam
The Goblins and Gremlins in The Goblin Gremlin War by Gami Games/ZackFMF
The Hands in the Tunnel of Hands by Jeto of Stone Soup
Best Trap - The Octagon of Air and Water by Adrian Tymes
So essentially this trap is actually just a really complex mechanism for controlling the air concentration and water temperature within the whole dungeon. This thing is a TPK machine and can quite literally kill everything in the dungeon.
Best Trap Honorable Mentions
Haunted Trap Room by Laura and Salty Nick
The Room with No Exit by OnwaVT
The Brass Tree by Skrat, A Squirrel Plays
Most Versatile Room - The Pit of Pits by Henry Smith
When laying out the big map I tried numerous different combinations. The Pit of Pits was always so good at filling in a specific space when no other room could. With no listed doors, or art that specified entrances or exits, I could stick this piece anywhere, add as many entrances as I liked, and the room description didn’t really rely on being in a specific area of the dungeon either. Super handy, super versatile.
Conclusion
Thanks again to everyone who participated, the turnout was spectacular, and the rooms were awesome.
I would love to do this again next year if the interest is there! But it is also very time-consuming for me so I may need to enlist extra help. Will let you know when we get there.
Thanks again and I hope everyone enjoys the dungeon!!!
